Amy’s personal experience with the devastating impact of suicide has been a journey through suffering, introspection, and empathy — and, ultimately, a move toward concrete action and change. In 2017, while on a plane to France to source furnishings and home accessories, Amy had an epiphany: finds from her travels could translate into pop-up shops that would provide funding for those affected by suicide. On the same trip, she spotted a piece of art with the words “under the same sky” subtly painted within. The words spoke to global togetherness and the power of the human spirit, and in that moment Under the Same Sky was born.
