A Lakeside Retreat Where Serenity Is Matched By Style

Color, pattern, and lots of plush seating dictate the design in an expansive lake home. 

The homeowners weren’t afraid to take chances, and Amy Kartheiser Design met the challenge, creating a space that’s bold, energetic, and welcoming. “When I’m designing a vacation home, I like to experiment with elements the homeowner has been dying to try but maybe felt a bit shy to incorporate into their main home,” Kartheiser says. 

Enter: A show-stopping Roche Bobois sectional that makes quite the statement in the living room. AKD paired the sofa with a custom-designed coffee table, floor lamps from Circa Lighting, and side tables also from Roche Bobois. “We added textured fabrics on upholstered pieces, mixed patterns and colors, and created out-of-the-ordinary seating arrangements,” Kartheiser says of the lakefront project.
